CoinMarketCap, the popular cryptocurrency data provider, has recently clarified some of its features on the X platform to address common misconceptions.

1) Not a Cryptocurrency Exchange

Firstly, CoinMarketCap made it clear that it is not a cryptocurrency exchange. This means users cannot buy, sell, or trade cryptocurrencies directly through their platform. The purpose of CoinMarketCap is to provide data and analytics on various cryptocurrencies, not to facilitate transactions.

2) No Withdrawal Functionalities

Secondly, CoinMarketCap emphasized that users cannot withdraw tokens via their platform. They do not support any withdrawal functionalities, meaning it’s not possible to move cryptocurrencies from one wallet to another using CoinMarketCap.

3) CMC-Portfolio is a Tracking Tool

Lastly, CoinMarketCap highlighted that their CMC-Portfolio feature is simply a tracking tool. This means it allows users to monitor their cryptocurrency holdings but does not function as a cryptocurrency wallet. Users cannot store their cryptocurrencies in the CMC-Portfolio.

CoinMarketCap’s statement is intended to ensure users have a clear understanding of what their platform offers and what it does not.
